So, summing everything up, my ultimate question would be, will quitting DU corrupt my drive to the point of it being a piece of silicon, or just erase everything on the disk, whereas I can then restore it using my Time Machine backups? (Or, just erase the Windows partition?) Both original partitions, Macintosh HD, and the 20GB Windows partition, are still filled up to the same amount as before I started up DU, so no data has been erased. And as far as I can tell, whatever it's doing, it's not erasing any data. I'm just worried about corrupting my internal hard drive to the point of no return, or, just to the point of it being a blank disk.Īnd DU is still at a steady 1.2 CPU process, so it's doing. If it just deletes everything on the drive, I can restore it with the Leopard Install Disk and TM. ![]() ![]() I know that Time Machine can restore my system, but what I meant is that if quitting DU will turn my internal hard drive into a brick.
